Our Story
Our story is still being written through every life changed by Jesus. We gather around the Word of God, prayer, worship, and meaningful relationships. Whether you are exploring faith or have followed Jesus for years, there is a place for you here. Come as you are, bring your family, and discover what it means to belong, grow, and serve together.
Truth Church began on September 2, 1962, under the ministry of Rev. Arthur Mahler. Seventeen people attended the first service, and more than 100 new disciples were baptized during the church’s first year. Originally called Full Gospel Church, the congregation worshiped on North Kalamazoo Street before purchasing ten acres in Antwerp Township in 1987.
The present campus at 32560 56th Avenue became the church’s home in 1993, when the educational wing was also added. Rev. Larry L. McEndarfer became pastor in 1987, followed by Rev. William Chapman in 1996.
In 2014, Rev. Steven and Carol Green were elected to serve as pastors. The congregation adopted the name Truth Church in 2016.
Through every season, our purpose has remained the same: to love people, learn truth, live truth, and share truth as disciples of Jesus who make disciples everywhere.
Our Faith
We believe the Bible is the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God.
We believe in one eternal God and in Jesus Christ—fully God and fully man—whose death, burial, and resurrection provide our salvation.
We believe the New Birth includes faith in Jesus Christ, repentance, water baptism in the name of Jesus Christ, and receiving the Holy Spirit, evidenced by speaking in other tongues.
We believe the Spirit empowers believers to live holy, Christlike lives.
We believe that the Church exists for worship, evangelism, discipleship, fellowship, and ministry.
We believe that divine healing is available through Christ.
We believe that Jesus Christ will personally return to judge the living and the dead.
